The Niagara Chapter (SCRC 238) History
Southern Cruisers Riding Club is a recreational, Not for Profit organization, operating with the sole purpose of promoting good, clean and safe riding activities.
This family-oriented motorcycle riding club, first organized in 2000 in the Niagara Region, is known as Southern Cruisers Riding Club. SCRC for short, Chapter 238. The club started out with 2 rides a week with 8-11 bikes, dreaming that someday we would reach 20 members. Before the end of the 2000 riding season, we had already grown to a hefty 75 members! With the help of the officers and road captains over the past 10 years, we have exceeded our highest expectations boasting a mind-blowing 100+ members! We have only a few requirements for our members and that is to join in some events and have the most fun that you have had in a while. The best part is there is no fee.
Again, in this fast-growing club, we needed to expand to yet again another chapter in February 2005. The Southern part of the Niagara Region formed a new chapter, Chapter #129 Erie Shores.
Chapter 238 holds Tuesday and Friday night rides throughout the spring, summer, and fall and we have additional sanctioned rides several times during those months for our members. Throughout the winter months, we hold Wednesday Social Night at the Niagara Falls Legion, which is a weekly get-together of members. (see rides/events schedule for details)
Our Chapter stresses safe group riding. We have initiated Group Riding seminars for new members that ensure we all ride under the same umbrella of safety.
